I am a military spouse, and I would like to take college courses?

Question:
online. I am not currently employed, it seems that is a requirement for some of these online colleges. What would be the best online college for me. I have never been to college.

Answer:
First, check to see if your local community / junior college offers on-line classes. That would be the first place I check, and by far the cheapest.

Second, on-line classes from the "big" for-profit on-line universities (U. of Phoenix, etc) are VERY expensive, almost without exception (And if they are not, chances are they are not accredited and/or a diploma mill). This is why they want you to be employed - because they are geared to take advantage of tuition reimbursement from jobs, not traditional government loans and aid.

So, my best advice to you is to try a local county/state college and try their on-line classes. Chances are they will be cheaper and of better quality.
