College commuter syndrome?
Question:
I wish I could meet more people around my area even if it's online (I think I'd connect with people who are also looking for friends online [hey, it's one thing we'd have in common, right?]). Does anyone know of any websites that are geared towards making FRIENDS? Any suggestions? Advice?
Answer:
Websites are tricky to meet friends on- especially in this day and age. Craigslist (Depending on the city) is a great source to find interesting people, but I recommend going out and meeting people- hit up a bar or club (even if it's out of your character) and scope the scene out- I'm having the oppostite problem- I am trying to become more mature and distance myself from my hardcore party college friends and find people who can have a stimulating deep conversation about things around us rather than how drunk they got this past weekend- its a trip and hard to do. Try volunteering too- good people, good times! Good luck and never be afraid to start the conversation as abstract as it may be. For example ask somebody if they have ever thought about how unique it is they'eve lived through over 1,000 mondays- thats a good way to strike interesting conversations with interesting people.
my yahoo messenger is isaacopedal
I'm pretty much in the same boat as you are
Hey..it's my third year of college as well and I am definitely burned out. I would recommend getting an apartment in a college geared complex. Even if you have to go potluck, you will meet girls your age and you can expand your circle of friends. I don't know of any websites except for facebook though. Good luck!!
