I want to teach online classes with a college or university? How do I break in to this industry?

The best way to get in is to apply to teach an evening course. If you can apply at the school that you attended then you may have a way to get your foot in the door.
If you need to take any more classes then you can check into taking a class and teaching one as well. This also helps to get your foot in the door. In order to be full time you must have a doctorate, but for part time they have many teachers with a masters degree.
You can also try making an appointment with the head of the department that you are trained in. Set up a meeting, explain your desire and perhaps they will refer you.
Contact any local community college that is offering on-line courses. If you can think of a course that should be taught, submit an outline, or sample syllabus to the Dean Of On-Line Education. Good Luck!
