I'm doing an on-line degree at the moment and I've found it to be good, in that you are in charge on your own time but sometimes difficult to keep myself motivated, as it’s mostly just me and the computer, there is tutor back up by email or phone but if you’re used to the classroom this can take a bit of getting used to
The course is modular, with some exams that I do at home, or work, these have to be witnessed by someone to say I did it under exam conditions, some courses require you to attend for exams or study weeks, mine doesn’t
The degree I’m doing is a science foundation degree, it will take me three years to complete, after that there is the option, with the addition of some bridging modules and a further two years study, to turn it into a BSc honours degree, so the part time route takes five years in total as apposed to four for the full time course, the benefit is I can continue working and earning
