Are Online Colleges & Universities like AIU, University of Phoenix, etc., as acceptable as Comm College/UC?

Question:

Answer:
I've take several classes from University of Phoenix, and they were very good. I did this as a graduate student though. While you'll get the same info online, I really think it is important to go to college with people. You network, make connections, and meet people that could help you out later.
Not all the time some employers dont accept depending on where you live so you would have to do some research first because they will tell you that they can not ganurantee anything but what since does it make to take an online course and you cant use it where you like
yes
I finished my degree through a school called Thomas Edison State College completely online. They are regionally accredited which means that they are accepted as any traditional college is and they offer federal financial aid so you know they are legit. My degree allowed me to enter law school with no problems.
It greatly depends on what you plan to do with your education. For some fields where your degree basically means you're certified, you can just say "I have a degree" and it doesn't really matter from where. Fields where you don't *need* the degree to do your job (you just need the expertise) are okay too - many computer-related jobs, for instance, would benefit from a computer degree from some school, but it doesn't matter where as long as you know what you're doing.

For fields where your University makes a difference, online schools can't hold a candle to real colleges. This includes if you plan to do graduate school, teach, or go into something competitive like laboratory science. Brick-and-mortar Universities also provide hands-on instruction you can't get online for things like dance, music, student teaching, and public speaking.

All in all, unless you have a compelling reason a traditional University wouldn't work for you (you are a single mom with two kids to support, for instance), traditional Universities almost always give you more for your money, and give you a more complete education.
