When you start college, your are basically starting your academic career over again. The admissions people will look to see what classes you had in high school, and some of those classes may be counted in lieu of a given college's graduation requirements, but none of the actual high school classes will count toward your college degree.
When I started college, the math courses I took in college were accepted in satisfying the math requirement for my BA, also, the three years of French were counted in satisfying the foreign language requirement. But I still needed to complete the 120 credit hours to get the degree. I was able to add more electives, but I still needed the same number of total hours.
If you're taking 3 hours at an accredited community college, then you will be 3 hours closer to completing the 120 hours most colleges require for a bachelor's degree.
