Early Childhood Education???

Question:
If I take online college classes to get a certificate in Early Childhood Education. Will the certificate be accepted in WA state? and who do I contact to find out?

Answer:
first you should see if the school you are taking classes through is accredited, if it's not you will have more of a problem. after that i would recommend going onto the WA dept of edu website to see what the requirements are for preschool teachers, or whatever level you want to teach. if you contact them you should be able to find out, if not i would then contact the school district that you are interested in working in, let both of these places know what your certificate is in and where you got it. one of the two should be able to let you know for sure. good luck
Contact the state website for the Dept. of Education
If you are not getting a Bachelor's degree online then you will not be able to teach in a public school system. You will have to do some type of student teaching and the online system also has to be accredited like the person before said. Contact the state dept. of education and they will tell you what the requirements are to attain a teaching certificate in the state.
