What are the best online colleges?
Question:
Answer:
The state universities and community colleges will be the best and least expensive way to further your education online. A big benefit is usually degrees obtained online from state universities and colleges will be no different than a degree granted to a student sitting in class. You probably won't get a scholarship, but financial aid is possible.
Stay away from the for-profits because of high cost. Some will be reasonable, but most, like University of Phoenix, overcharge. While the large for-profits are regionally accredited, they usually don't have program accreditations that the state universities will have in addition to regional accreditation.
If you are just starting your college education or have less than 60 semester credit hours, try your local community college first. They may have an online AA degree program. If they don't, try other community colleges in your state.
Once you have an AA degree, you can enroll in an online bachelor's degree completion program at one of the state universities. Many state universities now have online degrees. The following are some websites to get you started.

Some of the above schools are very reasonable in cost. Fort Hays State University, for example, is $137 per semester credit hour. Peru State is $130 per semester credit hour. University of Wyoming is $134 per semester credit hour. At less than 1/3 the cost of University of Phoenix and better accreditation means I would choose a state school over UoP any day.
Finally, when you choose a school, make sure it is at least regionally accredited. You can check accreditation at http://ope.ed.gov/accreditation/search.a... You can learn more about accreditation at http://www.ed.gov/admins/finaid/accred/i...
Good luck
None of them. Pretty much all online colleges offer only one thing: McDegrees.
You're best off going to classes part-time at a community college or local university and earning a real degree.
My Mom is getting her Bachelors Degree at the UOP (University of Phoenix) on-line, she already got her associates on-line, so on-line schools are still good, The only difference is if u get a D on-line you still pass whereas if U got a D in a regular collage you would have to retake the class.
