For anyone with an online degree?

Question:
if anyone has an online degree I have a few questions. Do you completely do the work online, or do you have to go back and forth to a local college for some things? Is the financial aid good? What is the best online school for a psycology degree? Lastly when you applied for jobs did the employers take your degree seriously? Thanks!

Answer:
I recieved an online degree last year. It was great. Think about doing it again. I actually did not complete all of my work online, because I had to go to class for Statistics. But you do have the option to do everything online. You can do all work and assignments on your own time. The financial aid was really easy. The school I went to helped me in that department. When I went to apply for a job, everything was great. They don't ask did you go online or not, sell yourself at the interview process. Good Luck
I am doing my Master's online. I am in the military and the school is recognized and accredited regionally. I use military tuition assistance to pay for the courses.

If you have anything specific, please just ask. It takes a huge amount of discipline to go online and if you don't have to go online, I would recommend going on campus-at least for undergrad work.
Hello,
I completed my M.S.ed. online, the format will depend on the school. If the school is an online university, then all classes will be online using a specific learning management system. If it's a traditional school, you may have some classes online and others on/off campus. Find schools you are interested in and then see what their online program offers. If it matches your criteria, then it should be an easy decision to make. Treat it just like you were searching for a traditional college or university, just add the online courses as a way of doing it differently. Good luck!

I can understand why you are asking about jobs after school - I had that same concern!

I say do what I told someone else a while ago that was asking about online schools: research, research, research!

It's nice to ask folks on AnswersRoom.com but nothing substitutes getting the facts from the schools themselves. I say get the top schools to send you info on they psychology degree programs, talk to the school's career director about how well psychology majors do after they leave the schools (i.e. salaries, placement, etc.).

Yes it can be a pain doing all that research but it will be worth it in the end. Also, stick to the "Ivy League" of online schools if you can.

Check out http://tinyurl.com/222c73 and you should be able to find everything you need.

Good luck!
