Should I go to college when I'm 16?

Question:
Next year I will be a sophomore and that could be my last year of high school... Should it be? I go to a school in a small town and I live out in the country and I love it here, and I don't take it for granted. However, I don't feel as if I'm getting the education I should and I always feel like I'm not on the same level or have the same mentality as most of my peers.

It would be 2 years of college paid by the state I live in if I went to college instead of going to high school my junior and senior year. I know I will be in college my senior year, I've made up my mind about that. But what about my junior year? I could do part-time at college and part-time in actual high school as well as some online courses. But I don't know.

I know I have to make up my mind for myself, but I'm seeking advice from others. Please give me reasons and if you went through this please tell me of your experience(s).

Thank you...

Answer:
Hmm, Well the only reason to stay in high school for me would be the high school experiences that you wont get in college, like prom and the freedom and that kind of thing.

If I were you, Id probably go to college though. Especially if you already feel out of touch with your peers. You can find some friends and join some clubs at college that will give you a very similar experience of high school, but with more challenge and more at your level, of course.

Follow your heart, and dont let anyone hold you back.
OH MY GOD, YOU'RE A GENIUS!!!

anyway, its really up to you, its your future. going to college when you're 16 shows a great deal of intellect. but at the same time, you'll miss the 2 years left in high school, that can be so much fun! so staying in high school for a little longer could give you a little more time to be a kid while you still can, and not grow up so fast. but on the other hand, seriously, graduating at 16 is very appealing to colleges.
It will be hard work, don't do it.
How about the half/half. My son did that. He's 18, has over a year of college under his belt and is employed as a draftsman at an awesome company that will pick up his fees for further education. He's met so many great people and enjoyed activities from both the high school and the college.
If I were in your shoes, I would definitely do it! This is a once in a lifetime chance, and not that many high school students get that chance anyway. Think about it, you will become more successful sooner!
i did half/half my senior year... I'll be a sophomore in college in august.. 2007
Yes! Go girl go!
I was at college young (16) and although I did well in class and was mature in many ways, I was still socially young. If you find a way to get college course work while staying in high school one more year, I think that would be the way to go. Wait til next year to decide.
I think you should do the part time in both for your junior year. You will get the best of both worlds that way!
I am not sure what I think but I do know that my sister-in-law graduated in January instead of June and now regrets it. She felt out of touch with all the things her friends were doing and lost touch with most of them.
