I'm not sure about the most widely accepted online college but the most popular is probably UoP (Univ. of Phoenix). Anyway, every college is different and the only way to be 100% certain is to call whatever college you're planning to transfer credits to. You should ask not only about accepting the credits from the school, but you should also specify which credit(s) you are wishing to transfer because while they may accept some credits from the school, they might not accept them all. Write to several; ask what colleges accept their credits.
Below is a list of online only colleges and bricks and motar colleges which also offer online degrees. I personally would go for the last - you know their credits are transferable.
