Would an on line degree from the University of Phoenix be as high of a quality as from a traditional college?
Question:
Answer:
If I were an employer I'd have far more respect for the person who attended a traditional college than one who went strictly online. There is no real value in UoP and they are not accredited under the same standards as a traditional university. They're nothing more than a for-profit diploma mill.
Although a degree from the University of Phoenix would be technically equal to a bachelor's degree from anywhere, I feel like people in the workplace may look down upon it. U of P is accredited, but some people may get the idea that you are not as prepared through this kind of schooling.
I think that in the past, online degrees were looked down upon, but I think in today's world, that degree is just as valuable as a degree from a "regular" college. My husband attends UoP, and I know it's easy to get burned out... he switched from online classes to the ones in a classroom setting. School is only one night a week, and he's getting more out of it. Good luck to you; I see how much work is involved for UoP. If you can stick with it, it will be worth it!
