How do i become an ESL teacher in Illinois?
Question:
if i double major in secondary ed and biology for undergrad and go to Wheaton Collge for a TESOL certificate, will that enable me to teach ESL? on the website, it says that the TESOL certificate is teacher accredited...
or is it better to go to a collge/university that i'm not really interested in that offers ESL programs for undergrad so that i can do what i wnat to do faster? help?
i'm not in a hurry to get a job, i can take my time. actually, im applying to the Golden Apple Scholars Program which requires me to teach for five years and a needy schools within eight years of graducating. I guess that does give me time to get the certificate b/c it only takes a year..
is there even such a thing as ESL biology? what should i do?

Do you have an academic adviser at your college? Wheaton is in Illinois, right? It seems like they would have more accurate requirements at their fingertips.
