Home school and College...?
Question:
Answer:
Good question. Homeschool students have transcripts that are produced by their parents. You will find that most colleges are very accepting of homeschoolers. In general, what colleges will look for is a record of achievement in all areas of your life when evaluating you for entrance.
Just a note of experience here. If you are going to be homeschooled, DO NOT DO VIRTUAL ONLINE SCHOOL. It is hell. Imagine this, being stuck in front of a monitor for 6 hours a day. Teaching is meant to be done person to person.
I have two homeschooled children who love it and know many that have gone off to universities with no issue.
May God bless your endeavors.
Also, remeber that in High School, you can dual enroll in community college. So that you can actually get a portion of college done while still in high school. Those transcripts and credits carry over. I know several students that completed traditional college in 5 semesters because they had dual enrolled in high school.
Of course you can go to college.
have your parents check out http://www.homeschooloasis.com for help creating transcripts and diplomas.
Yes you can go to college. You may have to take SAT and some colleges may require advanced SATs.
It may be a good idea to take few courses in local community college while you are Junior/Senior in HS. That gives validity to your HS diploma/transcript, and you may begin college at sophomore level.
You can get both- your diploma will be issued by the parent and so will the transcipt unless you are at an accredited homeschool program. The Potters School is not accredited so you will recieve grades from them.
Getting into college is no problem now- in fact many colleges actively seek homeschoolers because of their study skills, community involvement, and focused attitudes.
