Does anyone know of affordable online colleges?

Question:
i am trying to persue an associate's degree in business adminstration/ management, does anyone know of some affordable yet accredited online colleges or universities?

Answer:
Check into your local community college. Most colleges have online programs now. That would be the cheapest way to go for an associates degree.
I am presently attending the University of Phoenix. the credits cost less than most state schools but they do accept ferderal grant money. The school is fully accredited and offers degrees now in psychology, human resource, and medical fields as of 6/1/2007. I started in January and my books cost 135.00
My total for an associates dergree will be around $15,000 for 18 months ( I am getting some grants though so it will not be this much)and my bachelors will be a little less because I am transferring credits from another college. A friend of mine is taking business administration there also. Her tuition is about the same. The only downfall is that unless you live in Arizona you are not eligible for state grants for the school. However like I said federal grants are out there and made available.
FYI this is one of the most competative schools out there online. I compared it to Penn State online as well as several others here in my home state and the hire record is better. Many people will tell you negative things about any online university but the fact is Online educaiton is becoming more popular by the day due to hectic schedules and cost of traveling. It all depends on you and how you learn. If you need a classroom then you should not attend online classes. However if you like to learn on your own by reading and doing research and writing then you should take this route.
I got my Associates in Science in Business Administration through Columbia College. I've really enjoyed it and I've taken almost all of my classes online. They offer completely online degrees now. You can check it out at:

Just click on Online Campus. Hope that helps :-)
I definitely recommend checking to see if a local community college offers this degree online. The cost will be minimal.

Check the link below for colleges that offer your desired degree, cost, etc. Follow the school site to see if the degree can be obtained online.

I actually don't hear a lot of good things in the academic world about University of Phoenix Online. I Work p/t as a college adviser.

Also, I hear about far too many people not being considered for jobs if they have an online degree from University of Phoenix.

Online education IS becoming offered more and more through well respected accredited universities. Be careful with schools that offer nothing but, though. Also, there are different types of accreditation. There are online colleges that do NOT have the same accreditation as you are probably looking for...which most employers are looking for. Many of these online schools have accreditation of a technical and trade school. If you aren't diligent in your research you might not know the difference...until a potential employer turn you away.

(Everglades University is one such school that has the accreditation of a technical trade school.)

Good luck.
