Has anyone had a problem with Axia University of Phoenix? Please help!?
Question:
Answer:
I am in the second block at Axia University and I was very concerned before I started the program. It did take 90 days to get the funds allotted to me. They actually have to wait to see if you will pass the class before FAFSA will send the money. Just hang in there and you will be happy. I also went on line and gathered all kinds of neg. information. Got myself con fussed. But took the plunge and have had no problems. I passed my first two classes with As and very proud of myself. It was not easy as on line learning can be difficult for some. I got my money and instead of paying the loan for the first payment, I decided to get a laptop to help me in my educational work. Glad I did. Next payment I will pay the loan. You should know I have gotten unconditional help from my counselor., support tech, the teachers and the peers. Don't make it so stressful for yourself. This school is highly recommended and because some have had problems mostly due to their own misunderstandings they try to make the school look bad. Just so you know, there for awhile, I was talking to my counselor. every single day getting help with my homework and any other problems I thought I had. Hope this clears your mind. Go for it and get your education in the way that is most convenient for you and your family.
Document, document, document! Send letters (and keep copies) to anyone and everyone you can find over there letting them know you will not be taking classes. Call and speak with your Enrollment Advisor and let him/her know you are not going to attend. Are you already registered for classes? Check online to make sure you are following all of their proceedures for withdrawal. Make sure before term starts that you have a piece of paper from them acknowledging that you will not be taking classes so that they cannot charge you later.
I would also contact Wells Fargo and let them know that you want to recind your loan application. You can always reapply once you have things figured out and this will ensure that UoP won't be able to draw against it.
I commend your desire to continue your education. I highly recommend that you continue to pursue this however you need to do it through a distance program offered by a respectable brick and mortar school. I know that the University of Nebraska - Lincoln offers distance programs in many majors and they won't try to screw you. There are many other schools out there that offer a good way to get a degree from home but I would recommend you stick with state sponsored schools just to be safe.
