Amazon.com is probably the best, followed by eBay and while you're at eBay, check out Half.com as well. Make sure you get the correct edition of the book since some people are still selling outdated editions. In some courses, it won't make that much difference since the changes are basically cosemetic, but in others it can make a major diffrence. Remember, cheap isn't always best.you might wind up with the wrong book! So make sure you know which edition you need before buying.
You could check out a place called Alibris.com, but be very careful - far too many times they send out the wrong book.

http://www.half.com (which is part of EBay) but it has textbooks at half the cost, I believe most are used books, but they usually are in great condition (I have gotten a few of my books from there).

I use either ebay.com or amazon.com. I check the edition I need and how much my school bookshop is selling at used price. Then I check Amazon to see how much they're selling at used price. Then I see if anyone is selling on eBay for less. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. But if you shop around, you will get a good bargain.
Put up a card on the community board of your college saying which books you want. someone will have them for much cheaper than your bookstore and with no shipping. Half.com is a good alternative, I've used them and never been disappointed. (Sometimes you get last years books but some professors expect that and give you the extra info.
