Has anybody attended Axia College of University of Phoenix Online and how was your experience?

Question:
I want to go back to school to finish my degree and University of Phoenix has a program I'm interested in and their program can be complete online, which works well with my work schedule. I'm just curious as to other people's experience with the school.

Answer:
I am currently attending Axia of UOP and I am very pleased with the way the classes are formed and handled. Class sizes can are typically small and you can get lots of help when needed. My couselors, (Academic and Finance) contact me quite often to make sure things are going well. Should I have any questions the instructors are always prompt to respond and almost all even given you their personal number so that you can call them should time for email or posting your news group not permit.

Like anything in life, it's what you make of it. I will be very honest and say that it takes a lot of time and interaction to be successful in this class. Lacking the classroom setting can be difficult for people who are a visual learner. You must have your priorities in place before even attempting such a online college experience.

As I am sure it is with traditional colleges, online college such as Axia of UOP requires lots of participations. Like with most colleges, you will find yourself being involved almost every day of the week for sometimes hours at a time. Learning from a distance requires lots of personal discipline. Should you lack time management skills then Axia of UOP may not be a good choice for you.

Hope this information helps you make a decision. If you do decide that you can handle the manner in which education is taught at Axia of UOP, you will find it a very exciting experience. I have 2 more classes before my recieve my Associates Degree. I am finally seeing the light at the end of this tunnel and it only took me 18 months to get there.

Good luck and best wishes for whatever decision you decide is best for you.
Like many schools, UOP is strong in some programs and weak in others. Can you specify what industry you're pursuing? When I got my degree there, some of the professors were very accomplished and gave us lots of real-world advice. But one or two professors obviously weren't up to University caliber. One thing is, when you are doing your research, you won't find lots of information on the main UOP website. I found most of my information here: www.universityofphoenixdegree.
I currently attend Axia College, and I really enjoy it. I am in my third block of classes. The classes fit into my schedule. I have had great experiences with them, educational wise, and financial wise.
I used to be an Enrollment Counselor at Axia. It is a great program if you can afford it. You have to keep in mind that there's for profit universities like Axia College and the University of Phoenix that have good programs, but the higher the cost does not just equate to higher quality. For profit institutions are making a bundle for their investors because many prospective students only see the schools that have the money to advertise everywhere. Before you make a decision, I would recommend looking into the online programs available through a local community college or research some of the non-profit universities such as Western Governors University. www.wgu.edu.
My experience was horrible and a rip-off. I was one of the lucky ones, I only was taken for ~$1800 for two classes. It was disorganized and I felt the education was substandard and their recruiting and financing practices unethical. I dropped out after seven weeks but knew in my third week of classes that I had made a big mistake, but was persuaded by my counselors to hang in there but I feel more for their profits than for my good!
PLEASE research other options. There are other options out there and look at non-profit schools first. There are other reports on U of Phoenix and Axia online and the horrible experiences people have had. I am in the process of filing a complaint through the BBB. I had completed more than half my credits for AAB through a community college before trying Axia and they were light years ahead of this organization. Biggest mistake I have ever made!
Good luck with your endeavors.
