How expensive are online colleges? I'm interested in getting an associate degree?
Question:
but how expensive are they?
thanks
Answer:
It is rare an art institute will have an online college.
Select an online college that is part of a regular university. Some of the online only colleges are getting accusations from companies and alumni that they are "diploma mills". Most universities now offer at least half of all of their courses online.
I attended Kaplan University for a little while. My tuition was around $10,000. I was going for my associates in Criminal Justice.
Good luck with school. :)
Online colleges are usually a lot more expensive than other options. Do you have a local community college? You may be better served by studying art there, rather than at an online school. Especially with something like art, the interaction with the professor and fellow students is vital to your work. I can't imagine trying to study art online.
If online is your only option, then it's better than nothing. But if you have a local school that offers this course, that would be a stronger option.
Online school - probably about $10,000 to $15,000 US per year. Local community college - probably about $2000 to $5000 US per year.
depending on what you want makes a big difference. however you can assume that even for a BA in biz administration, that will set you back around 18-22k. since this is the art institute, their graphic design, fashion, etc style programs are at least 30k to start. you'd be far better off going to a local community college rather than waste your time with online schools.
If u can...it would be better for u to attend an actual school, rather than take classes on line. Reason for this is...when u apply for a job at a company, they would rather see that on your resume.
They might not be very expensive or you could probably get a gov't loan or grant. That is not really the problem. What you need to figure out is how will it really help you.
1. If you have a job, see what an aa degree from an online facility do for you as far as salary upgrades.
2. Read the classified ads in the newspaper to see what companies are requiring these days in your area.
In other words, see what you will get once you graduate. Sometimes, going to a traditional college will be far more worth it. Also, there are really good high-tech schools that you go to at night or weekends and are great at hands-on learning. See if they help you get a job after graduation. Check those out!
God bless you!
Go through a community college. Most have online courses that will give you a better education for a better cost. PLUS you know you are actually going to get a degree.
Online colleges aren't worth it. Unless you live in the middle of nowhere, you can go to a community college. Employers would be more likely to look a degree earned from a community college than to look at a degree earned from an online college. You could even hours as low as $50/hour!
