Advices to suceed in online college?
Question:
Answer:
The most valuable tool I have found for success in any school (on-line or in person) is to spend several hours at the beginning of the semester putting together a calendar of daily tasks for the whole semester.
1. Ask all the teachers for a list of assignments for the whole semester
2. Get a calendar with enough room to write several tasks each day
3. Start by writing down the due dates for each assignment two days BEFORE the teachers say it's due
4. Back up from each assignment due date and write in the preparatory milestones you need to get it done (e.g. if the assignment is an English paper write down when you'll finish the rough draft, when you'll work on the research etc.)
5. Try to balance the work so no one day is overburdened
6. Every day do the work assignments on your calendar for that day
Besides getting you straight "A"s there will be very few late night cram sessions, and your stress level will go WAY DOWN. That's because after your daily assignments are done you can play and sleep without guilt.
Try it. It seems simple but it absolutely works.
Do not procastinate!
(think I spelled it right)
From my experience with online classes, it is more relaxed and you're likely to put things off till the last minute. Always keep up with the work and always asked questions or look for online help.
Joe gave excellent advice but also include all reading assignments on the calender and find out about your school's library's offerings on-line. My university, Texas A&M in commerce, offers off-campus databases that have formed the base for most of the papers I have been required to write while in school. Also do not hesitate to contact your professors for clarification on assignments and questions. Good luck.
