I general, people don't care of you get your degree online.
The disadvantages are:
1. More expensive
2. Cumbersome - up to date computer and software are generally needed. Office hours for faculty can be difficult if time zones are involved. Group projects are a pain for the same reason.
3. Not physically being in a classroom environment takes some getting used to.

they are if you don't have the time to go to a regular college fulltime, or you are just interested in taking a few courses. Do your homework though...
