What is a good college-level education alternative?
Question:
Answer:
I would be wary of "life experience" degrees. It is one thing for a college to take into account that adults have committments and obligations outside of education and to accomodate those needs (i.e. online classes, night/weekend classes, part-time). But "credit for life experience" is not a good sign. Be sure to investigate the school and find out if it has a good reputation and if your time and money spent there will be worth it.
Consider local community colleges, which may have more vocationally oriented programs at a reasonable price compared to many 4-year colleges.
Those degrees are worthless. If you don't want to go to college, go to a trade or technical school. If you want to go to college, go to the best school that you can get into. There are reputable online programs. Many major universities have online components. Keep in mind that a reputable online program will probably require you to spend some time on campus each year - at least a couple of weeks. Another way to go is to go to community college for a couple of years (much less expensive) and then transfer to a 4 yr school. You have alternatives. Don't spend your money on a garbage diploma.
