Question:
Are online schools to become a vet tech or assistant as valuable as a university or college? I was thinking of becoming a vet tech and unfortunately the closest school to me is over an hour and I don't have time to drive there and back. The online programs are more flexible with my schedule but would someone hire me over someone with a college degree?
Answer:
They lack the obvious credibility of an "in attendance" degree . Mostly this is due to the fact that many of those offered are not from an accredited university/institution. But the obvious lack of hands on applications and direct student/teacher interaction also plays a role in this.
It is up to you, the degree holder, to convince them that this is not the case. As there are people who can compensate for these short-comings of this type of education. There are also some schools that offer the option of arriving on campus for certain class projects, lessons or tests.
No I don't think they have much value and I definitely don't think you would ever get a job over someone with a college degree. Sorry, probably not what you wanted to hear.
why is this on pets?
