What does everyone think of online dating? Is it taboo still?
Question:
Answer:
Just met my boyfriend through online dating and getting on very well! Online dating is now the biggest and most successful way of meeting your ideal partner, according to recent research (Mori poll/newspapers, etc) so go for it. I don't think that taboo exists for many people now.
I've actually heard of a few good relationships coming by the way of online dating...however, just know the serious dangers..."internet dating is like a box of chocolates...ya never know what you're gonna get"
its still randomly meeting people --- you dont really know who you are talking to until you get to know them
it can work and work well --- that is how i met my lady -- wh have still to meet in person but we know each other so well
It is a good past time. And the whole time, you are hoping that the person is truthful. It is entertaining. You have to be careful, and that comes with commonsense. Their is nothing wrong with it, as long as you know what you are up against!
I met my husband on-line and we've been married for 5 years now and have a 6 month old son.
My only advice will be be truthful and be very careful, you get weirdos anywhere, not only on-line.
Wife and I met on yahoo. It's perfectly normal and honestly safer for the woman. Besides who wants to met their husband/wife at a bar.
However it's not "almost like ordering the exact person you need" because if that's what you're wanting go look for a mail order bride. Relationships take work including on-line found ones.
I don't think its taboo anymore but I personally would feel very uncomfortable talking to someone online simply because the person you are talking to could be lying about who they really are. What if he's an axe murderer?!? That's really scary to me.
You can do the online dating as long as you go the appropriate sites that are not full of scams and dissapointments. Just be careful because you don't know who it is your actually talking too regardless of the picture you may see. I have heard of them working and yes there are a lot of honest people like you i'm sure that want to do the same thing. Just search around to places like friendfinder.com or something like that. Have fun.
I met my wife online and it was the best thing that ever happened to me. But I dont advertise the fact we met online. All my family and friends ask how did you meet? So I just say at the airport, well that's where I fast saw her. If they insist I tell, but no one has ever judged us badly because of it.
Its a great way to filter out people you would never get on with, and devote your time to those with a chance. But there is a lot of luck involved, there are many things you never find out about the other person until you are married a year or so.I wonder if that is any different from dating someone next door though. Anyway I'm glad thingsworked out so well for me.
I have had no luck with on-line dating because of my ugly-*** picture.
:(
I was searching the personals and saw a local registered sex offender. Yikes!
