Purchasing college textbooks online?

I've done it quite a few times on half.com and I have only had a problem once. I didn't recieve the book after paying for it but once I contacted half.com they refunded me the money.
At my son's college, he can purchase books online from his local bookstore...new or used (depending on availability.) Beyond that, I'm not aware of a mass-online textbook purchasing site. Did you do a search online to see if you could find such a site?
Go to Amazon.com - there are a ton of them on there and at all different prices. Steer clear of an outfit called Alibris.com.you may or may not get what you order. You might wind up with an old edition - whatever they feel like sending you. You could also try Half.com or eBay (same company) but prices seem to be a little higher than they are on Amazon. Plus, they tend to put the screws to you on shipping where Amazon has a set rate. And this is the best time to order, before the semester starts. If you wait until the last minute, you might have trouble finding the book, or wind up paying more than you want to. Also, check and see if your college/university has a book exchange program - you can trade your old books in for ones you need.
