Besides online dating and work where should I meet people?
Question:
My question is where should I try meeting people? I have no "wingmen" so bars and clubs are a problem, and even then that was never my scene. I was always the "Gump my way into a relationship with someone I met at a college party" guy. Now that I'm out of college and in the workforce where should I look? Please don't recommend work. Not only are there not options there, but even then I couldn't bring myself to be that unprofessional.
Sincerely,
One Lovelorn Hoosier
Answer:
It isn't the "where" but the "how" that is important. You can meet people anywhere...grocery store, video store, the gas station...but you have to be open to meeting them. Smile at people... be friendly when you're out and about and strike up a conversation with someone who looks interesting.
I know a woman who met her husband at Dunkin Donuts... she had been smiling at him each morning when they each went to get coffee and they progressed to meeting on purpose for coffee...Then on to dating. But the key is being open to meeting people.
I went out for coffee with a friend and she was upset about never meeting any men to date... but the whole time we were at the coffee shop, there were men trying to get her attention and she didn't even notice. Keep your eyes open. Someone may be trying to get your attention too. Good Luck.
