Online degree search for counseling?

canyon college counseling degree is NOT accredited ..you cannot get a job with it..I know..I needed 3 courses to get that degree when I found out. MOst online courses are NOT accredited..if they take aid they are but your courses will not transfer if you decide to later go to a reg univ. for bachelors or master's program..go to a reg. univ. and take online classes..
I am from Australia, so it's a bit hard for me to give you advice, for on line counselling courses, But just be careful that the course you apply for is not a SCAM, i read that there are many around the world that say, for this much you can get a degree ect ect, and its fake paper.
I would first ask a proper school if they have any recommendations or advice, then make sure the on line course you choose is recognised by your state, by ringing the Professional Institute Line

I recommend you consider a Master of Social Work degree. You will have a lot more opportunities, higher salary, state reprocity, and lobbying power (that is important) than counselors have. Also, make sure the university is accredited; if it isn't, you will not be able to get your state licensure so that is very important. If at all possible, I recommend you take your courses at a university. They are offering more and more classes for the working adult these days.
