Do employers accept online degrees or even take them seriously?

Question:
I plan on taking some online college courses from the University of Phoenix to pursue a business degree sine i am busy working for the military. From what i heard UoP is a great online university and they are nationally accredited but do employers like them the same way as a traditional degree you get from the actual university campus?

Answer:
I would say that it depends on the employer but more and more are looking less at where you got you degree and focusing mostly on the degree itself. I know a lot of people who have degrees, especially Master's degrees, from online universities, particularly UoP. They have done very well with them.

After working in Admissions for a University and now in HR for a major company, I really do think that the degree itself is most important, not where you got it. If you have the knowledge and especially the experience demonstrating that knowledge, you can do well.

But, like I said, it depends. You will always run into people who will have a bias but they will be missing out on some good employees because of that bias.

Good luck!
