Is it against the law for a 13 yr old to take online college classes?
Question:
Answer:
It is not illegal. You do have to meet the school's requirements.
Now if you were to lie about your age or other information than that would be fraud which is illegal.
no it is not illegal. if you can handle the courseload, go for it! if you intent to graduate after high school to go to college, you will be considered a transfer student instead first time freshman. However, you won't be eligible for financial aid because you will need a high school degree.
To take the course with parental or guardian permission - legal.
To enter into a contract stating you'll pay for it, even though you know you can't enter a contract (being a minor) - illegal - penalty - nothing.
it might so be careful if i were you i would cancel whatever you signed up for to get them. oh and next time you ask a question, dont give out your age it makes you look stupid. \<o_o>/
You have to be accepted by the school. In order to be accepted you have to prove you graduated from HS. You can take anything you want but you wont get credit for it if you lie. If you are as intelligent as you say you are, have your parents see if you can test out of some of your high school classes and be put into advanced placement classes which include the ability to take the tests to earn college credits.
I took 2 college courses at a community college when I was in High School. So why not!
Check out the MITs open course-ware project. It's free but you can't get credit: http://ocw.mit.edu/index.html
You can order the same textbook that they use. You won't get credit but it would be very challenging.
