Has anyone taken online college courses?
Question:
Answer:
i have and my sister has as well. how they usualy work is work is assigned to you, and you submit it electronicaly or thru email on or before the due date. tests are given online. the final exam may have to be given in person. there is a tentative schedual for the classes.
i've taken psycology and a few web design and programming classes online. my sister took 2 psychology classes and 2 english classes.
it really depends on the class. I've done Math and English classes online no problem. Its a fun way to do it, but you have to be dedicated and responsible. Its way easy to blow off an assignment or two. and then end up in deep trouble.
My friends son is taking courses on line. He loves it, studies when he wants the school sends him his classes and home work. He is working on his masters now. Try the college you are interested in and see if it offers on line learning. He is taking the Phoenix Classes. I think that is how it is spelled. But there are others. Good Luck.
You can actually get a degree with nothing but online classes these days. There is usually an outline of the class stating when everything is due. My suggestions are to talk to people who have taken online classes with the specific professor and to do everything a little in advance in case there are problems submitting the information that you need. Professors have a tendency to be a little unorganized and the classes can get a little chaotic if they are not set up to flow nicely. If they aren't well organized you will likely drive yourself crazy trying to keep up and figuring out what it due when. There are advantages and disadvantages to online courses just like everything else in life!
My sister took classes at the Phoenix school online for accounting i didnt think that was a good way to a get full on learning experience. but i was wrong she graduated and she loved it you have to be dedicated or it wont work be ready to sit in front of the computer for hours writing essays and talking to others "in the class" also helps it can be fun but it depends how you learn everyone is different some people need hands on teaching others dont good luck=)
I've taken 4 courses online, Algebra/Trig, Sociology, Psychology and English Composition.
Each teacher is different..
My Soc/Psych teacher had 3 print-out multiple choice tests. We had about a week to do each one, which made it easy. The hard part was that each test would be over 5 or 6 chapters and were VERY picky. We had 5 essays to do (each about 3 weeks apart). The first was only a few paragraphs long and the last had to be at least two pages.
My AT teacher had 9 or so quizzes/tests and our final exam had to be proctored at a local college. Tests were multiple choice and were timed.
My English teacher required 11ish assignments, ranging from a two-page starter paper to a ten-page research paper.
Remember, even though you may never see the teacher in person, they are still your teacher. All of my profs have supplied their phone numbers and emails and always respond back quickly.
