That's funny question, to start, solar energy as always been there, no one invented it, (energy can not be created or destroyed, only changed from one form-state to another)

Obviously you need to re-word your question (ie. who was the first to harness solar energy for commercial use?) because as it stands, the answer to your question is it was God many billions of years ago.

Since God made the sun, it was always there. Maybe, your question should be,who invented a device to harness the solar energy.
God invented solar energy when He fired up the sun. He didn't give us the exact date.
