The origins of our solar system?
Question:
And what are your thoughts on the new spin they have taken on the 'Nebular Hypothesis?'
Answer:
What 'new spin'?
Our solar system was, like any other, formed from a gas cloud that was pushed in on itself by at least three separate nearby supernovae (which left their mark by seeding the clouds with iodine, oxygen and aluminium).
Once you have such a cloud collapsing inward, the rest is pretty inevitable: it forms a spinning disk; the central mass accumulates to the point where it undergoes fusion and becomes a star; the remaining matter condenses into planets, etc. etc. Simulations and models are in reasonable agreement with what we see.

Is this 'new spin' something you found on creationWiki? That stuff'll mess your head up, man...

I haven't studied that enough to have much of an opinion on it. Thanks for the 2 points, though.
.
There are actually more solar systems in our universe and quite possibly even millions if you exponentially multiplied that. Our universe contains millions of unchartered stars, planets and moons
EDIT: What kind of a twisted science includes God or the Flying Spaghetti Monster into the equation? The Ron Hubbard Christology Calcumethphysics?
I think that our solar system was brought about by a massive explosion of matter that was jump started by a superior being (God) billions and billions of years ago. As for the "Nebular Hypothesis", I do not believe I have heard that one yet. I will need to research it and check it out.
What are your thoughts on these questions that you have posed?
Ya know, I used to ponder these questions, but soon realized in the big scheme of things whether or not we figure out how all this came to be, really doesn't matter. We are here, just make the best of what you got, because life is short and sometimes it's a beach.
God felt like making Himself a new universe, so several billion years ago He whipped himself up some hydrogen atoms. He tossed them around for a while, and eventually caused them to explode, which is apparently what you HAVE to do if you want to make your own universe. :P He took a bit more time swirling them about, forming debris here and there, causing a few more massive nuclear explosions there, and one day after working on the Milky Way, he tossed a few elements into the outer rim of the galaxy. He played with these elements for a while until He got them just the way He wanted them to; to the point where this star system could sustain life. He wanted to make Himself an intelligent species that He could talk to, so He put all the elements together on the third planet out from Sol (roughly 92 million miles from the star) to form and transform into what would one day be recognized as Homo sapiens.
Whew!. :P
The Nebular Hypothesis in its original form was proposed by Kant and Laplace in the 18th century. This is from http://csep10.phys.utk.edu/astr161/lect/... . Nothing about a "new spin". This question may get better answers in the Science section than here in Religion. Theres more proof of a universe being created without a god. god didnt create anything, we created god.
