Of course, Mars has no sea level, but even if you measure the height of Everest above the deepest ocean trench, you only get about 20 km. No surprise; Mars has weaker gravity and much less weathering than Earth. Olympus Mons is an extinct volcano, not a tectonic plate mountain like the Himalayas.
