Do solar powered fountains have battery storage to run at night?

Question:

Answer:
We have a little fountain powered by a solar panel. On a cloudy day, the pump doesn't. In the dark, the pump doesn't. If the collecting panel is not in direct sun, the pump doesn't pump at all. I've asked around and shopped around and a unit that will store power is expensive beyond reason.

according to this site they do.
typically a solar powered device uses the solar panel to charge a storage battery which is then used to power the device.

it should, however solar technology is getting better for things like the fountain you asked about, do not count on it to run all night or even when you want it to. best bet get one with a standard electric pump and plug it into a gfi outlet.
