Where can I purchase a solar ammonia absorption refrigeration system for home use?
Question:
Answer:
Currently, there are only solar-powered refrigerators using environmentally friendly CFC- free refrigerant (and solar panels) on the market for home use.
There is one company, Small Power Systems, based in California currently developing one for the market and are custom building ones with customers "who are willing to work with (them) on the design and put up with the idiosyncrasies".

The sources show how to make one. I don't know if you can buy one.
I just did a search on Google Products and found a bunch of sources. I think most of them are electrically powered. Because absorption refrigerators have no moving parts they are silent in operation and so they seem to be popular for dorm rooms and other applications where the noise is a problem. They are also used for off grid applications where they are often powered by a fuel like kerosene or propane. The second link lists several types of propane powered absorption refrigerators.
