You can apply an automatic switch to the on/off switch by integrating a solar (light sensitive) switch, a timer (9am - 5pm?) or a temperature. The temperature switch is probably best as it will be fully automatic and can be set to the temperature that is most comfortable to you. This way you don't get into a pool that feels like a jacuuzi.
