Solar cookers are near-worthless; you'll never be able to actually cook something with one. You might be able to warm up some hors d'oeuvres, but that's the best it'll get.
My favorite (and only) solar cooker story: A guy was demonstrating a solar cooker he'd invented, and giving out free hot dogs cooked in it. Someone took one and, trying to be politely complimentary, said, "Wow! These are really WARM!"
concave mirrors? not necessarily, but maybe.
you can start a fire with one, but it's a small location.
for cooking, you'd need a rather large one, and you don't see them often.
i think a common girl scout project to cook lunch in a solar oven.

The only solar cooker I say that actually worked well was a black plastic container with the inside being mirrored and a clear lid. It got close to 200 degrees in the cooker. Made a real good venison stew.
