Are these solar operated?

Question: We're doing this project in school where we have to run a toy company and I was just wondering can palmpilots and/or spell checkers be solar operated like calculators?

Answer:
Palmpilots and other small computers draw an enormous amount of power compared to calculators. Because of this, they definitely cannot be powered by today's solar panels. Perhaps in the future, when solar panels become more efficient, but currently, the answer is no.
