What role does magnetic activity play in solar activity?

Question:

Answer:
solar activity also create the aurora borealis (northern lights) when it hits the earths magnetic field
Everything! Solar activity is related to the sunspot cycle, which is related to how jumbled up the Sun's magnetic field is. Every 11 years or so the Sun's magnetic field reverses itself, and every 11 years or so there is a minimum of solar activity (including sunspots).
