When is the next meteor shower, lunar eclipse or solar eclipse??
Question:
Answer:
Hi Tot!
The next eclipse is less than four months away, the early morning hours of Tuesday August 28th here in North America. In Australia and New Zealand, it will occur Tuesday evening after sunset.
Then you have the partial eclipse of the sun Tuesday Sepember 11th, which is visible throughout the southern cone of South America that morning.
We are currently in the Eta Aquarid meteor shower (which, incidentally, moves in the same orbit as Halley's Comet).
The next solar eclipse is a partial, visible from South Amnerica south of the equator, the Falkland Islands, and Antarctica's Palmer Peninsula, on September 11 of this year. The next total eclipse is August 1, 2008, and its path cuts across Greenland, and through Siberia into northern China.
