Why do we have other planets in the solar system?

Question:
the reason ,uses

Answer:
During the formation of the solar system, the sun exploded and sent rocks hurtling into space, some escaped its gravitational pull, others began revolving around the sun. The pull of the sun's gravity wants to pull the planets back into the sun, however, due to the velocity of the sun itself, as its hurtling through space around the milky way galaxy and which is in turn hurtling away from the horrendous kablooie, the planets and comets/asteroids are forced into an elliptical orbit.
Maybe that's what God wants.
there part of our solar system, no them, no us
YOU NEED TO ASK THE PERSON WHO PUT THEM THERE WOULDN'T YOU THINK.
HAVE A GREAT DAY
What, you mean everything has to have a purpose? They're just there, like rocks on a plain.
why does the blue whale, the largest animal on earth, have an esophogus the size of an orange?because thats the way it is.
They're not there for our pleasure. They are there because that is how the forces of physics balanced out.
SO that people can count and tell you your astro prediction and make other fool.
The same reason we have earth, accretion, or check this link for other ideas.
They go great with the drapes and well, we get bored and there should be something to prod every now and then...then of course there is the possibility that things just happen...i dunno, God if you believe in that sort of thing...my theory is that the other planets are there to hide the REAL weapons of mass destruction!
I know I read one of this in from magazine called Popular Science and apparently they're trying to find more planets...

Now about your question... I would say that it's because Our solar system's big!
maybe.....i am not sure
We have other planets in our solar system to create balance.

Take a planet away and we might just go plunging to the Sun. Its all a delicate balance of "rocks" that in circle each other using gravity, or lack there of.

Without this intricate balance, our path around the cirlce of the Sun would be changed. And we would cease to exist.
because they exist
So we can have somewhere else to go and visit.

Why else?
wouldn't it be nice if one of the planets was completely Christian?
dude im not a science teacher!!!!!!

Think about this one. There are many interpretations depending on whether you're religious or not. Coincidentally, I happen to be an atheist, and you categorized this question under social science, so I'm going to go with the Big Bang Theory. I'm going to assume you at least know what that is; if not, the Internet is calling out to you if you are that interested. Of course, that's the scientific viewpoint. If you're just asking this in an "I want to hear your opinion" way, then the first thought that comes to mind is to combat your question with, "Are you one of those people who believes humans are the superior beings in this universe?" Now, I really don't want that to sound mean or anything, but that's my initial reaction. No one's got proof that there are other beings out there, but then again, no one's got proof that there aren't others. Just because we haven't found any traces of extraterrestrial life doesn't mean that we're all that special.
