Okay, I know this may seem strange but what can I use to make my own solar powered cooking device? What I mean basically is what do I use to absorb heat and make it stay inside the device so the temperature inside will rise? There is no way I am buying one, no matter what the price. I made this one of my goals and I'm just having trouble with the whole conducting and insulating thing. Thanks in advance.

when I was young I built a solar hoven, well nothing more than a carton box, filled internally with aluminium foil, and with a transparent "window".
This actually worked, I cooked a pizza(the tomato on it boiled) so it was quite effective, but this only in summer months.
It boils down to how long you are willing to cook and how much you will be cooking.
You can use pressure cooker and place it outside during hot suns. It will help.
Or you can use convcave mirrors and put your cooking utensil at the focus of the concave mirrors.
Bot take long time to generate enough heat.
Otherwise, you need to have solar panels to store energy to deliver in short burst.
