How do Solar Powered Lights work?

Question:

Answer:
A solar cell charges a battery during the daylight. The battery runs a light at night.
Solar power based equipments use photodetecters. These are special types of cells in which there are two plates .A voltage diffrence is built up between these two plates in presense of light. This voltage diffrence generate electric current. This current can be used directly or can be converted into DC with the help of rectifier and stored into batteries and when light is not available this DC is again changed into AC and used.(same as inverter)
