Why is it important to know how the solar sustem was formed?
Question:
Answer:
Because mankind has always wanted to know as much as they can (at least the intelligent ones). So when something is discovered, they want to know all they possibly can about it. Finding out secrets of the universe may lead to space travel, time travel (if that's possible), finding things on other planets that may cure diseases here, finding other life forms, etc. Knowledge is never ending and unlimited. There's nothing wrong with wanting to know more, as long as you don't use it to destroy (as evil). Sadly, the more technology we create, the more wars we fight.
It important to know the history of where you live.
It's because to understand how the planets are made and how they will end, to better understand how we got here, and to understand why are we here..
Because it actually took longer than 7 days as stated by the bible and that opinion was taken as factual until not that long ago.
Just to know how things work.
It's importance is the result of "man's unquenchable search for knowledge, and his quest for answers to questions he will always have...until he is, no more!"
It's simple: we want to know everything... and we soon will.
It's true there's more important problems in the world that we could try and take care of. I think humans explore issues like this purely for the sake of knowing and satisfying curiosity. How much money we should pour into astronomy programs and research is often the subject of much debate. Know that you're not alone in wondering why we could find this information useful. While certainly there are useful things that have been developed from furthering our knowledge about astronomy, it's very much a heated debate about what portion of our resources should be dedicated to this field.
