Question:
Answer:
Improve your insulation and air circulation.
Add another layer of drywal to the interior, or another layer of plaster and extra detail to all caulking, at 99 cents a tube at Dollar tree type stores and Big Lots. Also add rugs, and liner fabric to drapery.
For exterior insulation, look into earthships, straw bale and stucco on the outside or wrap your home in tyvek, plastic and siding, t 1-11 or vinyl or lathe and stucco.

HEAT rises, use a fan, opposite in the room of the stove, facing the wall to floor, to pull warm air down. Trial and error but once you get the warm air circulating, you need less fuel. This is the whole point of reverse motor ceiling fans, to push the hot air down. Even lighting candles opposite the stove in the coldest corner gets the air moving and spreads the warmth.

actually solar should always be an option.you can design you rooms and windows and rooflines to take advantage of whatever little sunlight exists.but you will neeed a secondary heat source.have you looked into geothermal heat pumps?
Please whatever you burn in the stove,be sure to have the chimney checked EVERY year if that is your major source of heat.I have scene to many homes burn down bc they would not have a chimney sweep do his thing every year. You change the oil in your cars why not have this checked.
Geo-thermal heating is excellent. It has been around for years, but only recently been given credit where credit is due. I won't give you a dissertation here, but almost every hvac contractor will carry and install system. Make sure you get several different prices prior to buying. The market is very competitve. The system is an expense, but will pay for itself many times over and requires little to no maintenance. Go on line to learn more.
i sure would like some info about burning corn pellet's i'm dirt poor student and sometime's it'seat or heat let me knopw please
