What kind of expirements can i use for solar power?
Question:
Answer:
A great little experiment involves a solar cell and a fuel cell. Use the solar cell to provide the energy to electrolyze water to procude oxygen and hydrogen. Use the hydrogen to power a fuel cell that in turn does something useful. The great thing is that you can show how the energy the solar cell generates can be used to make a storable source of power, namely the hydrogen. And the fuel cell has no emissions other than water. An experiment that you can try would be to set up different numbers of mirrors to increase the amount of light hitting the solar cell. Your hypothesis could be that greater incident light leads to greater power generation and hence a greater hydrogen production rate. Vary the number of mirrors being used. If you wanted you could do that on it's own. Just hook up a solar cell to something like a simple windmill, that will turn faster at higher voltages. Does using a mirror make it turn faster than no mirror? How about 2, or 3, or 4?

Set up a solar cell and hook it up to a ammeter or power meter. Measure the output at different angles during different times of the day to determine the optimal fixed angle for the cells.
