What's the name of the solar system that earth is in?

Question:
I want to thank everybody who answered my nebula question. No wonder I couldn't find the name of earth's nebula on Google. No, I wasn't confusing nebula with anything else... I swear!

Answer:
As others have mentioned, the "Solar System" is called the "Solar System". The reason for this is that the star at its center is called "Sol" (our sun). Other star systems would have different names based on their root star. For example, the star system around Alpha Centauri would be called the Centauri System.
Hi. "The Solar System". All others would be called star systems.
It has no name, other than, "The Solar System". It is like "The Moon" or "The Sun" that way. Titan is a moon of Saturn and Polaris is the name of a distant sun, but Earth's moon is just "The Moon" and Earth's sun is just "The Sun", so our solar system is just "The Solar System".
Its is simply the "Solar System".

The Galaxy that Earth is in is the "Milky Way".
The solar system.
I have never heard it called anything else but the solar system. If we were outside looking at it, I guess we'd call it the Sun system.
Just Solar System
Okay, I think you mean what galaxy is our solar system in and that's the Milky Way Galaxy. The earth is a part of the solar system which revolves around the sun.
i think it is just generally called "our solar system"
most systems of this type are named after the star at the center. our star (the sun) is called Sol therefore our system is the solar system.
actually it is not just The solar system...every star that has a system of planets has a Solar System...

I've always been told that we live in the sol System

but thats just what i think
just like just say that a star named frank
worul be the frank system
Solar system is the area where sunlight reaches.
The solar system that Earth is in is named "The Solar System."
Sol system, after our sun.
The Sol Solar System after our sun Sol.
Our solar system is technically a star system, reffered to as the "Solar System" after the sun, a.k.a. Sol. The system around another star would be named after that star in the same way.
It is the "Sol System", the "Sol Star System" or the "Solar System". All three are derivations of the proper name of the sun which is Sol.

If you went to visit the star Rigel, it would be the "Rigel System", the "Rigel Star System" or the "Rigellian System". All of these are correct.
