Why is wind ,solar and biomass alternative energy??

Question:

Answer:
They are considered alternative energy because they aren't normally used.

Up until now, oil has been one of the main sources of energy, and it produces a huge amount of Co2 (carbon dioxide), which destroys O3 (trioxide) molecules in the ozone layer. This leads to the destruction of the ozone layer, which leads to more harmful sun rays, then more heat, most commonly known as global warming.

Recently, the world has been looking for ALTERNATIVE primary sources of fuel, such as wind and solar energy, which release NO Co2 amounts. They are all alternative sources because they are to replace are normal, Co2 producing energy sources, such as gasoline and coal.
Because they don`t use fossil fuel, and they are not sources of pollution. They are also considered inexhaustible.
Because they are "alternatives" to the dominant forms of energy generation that have existed for the past 100 years or so. Funny thing is, humans have used wind, water, biomas, and even passive solar energy for thousands of years. SO...the REAL alternative energy sources are the fossil fuels, and we need to get back to our roots.
The two reasons I know of are one these forms of energy don't cause polution, and two the sorce of energy is renewable (the wind is not going to run out and water is not going to stop flowing).

Hope this helps
YES!
Solar wind and biomass are all considered alternate energy for several reasons.

For a very long time they were not competitive with their traditional counterparts. " coal, natural gas and oil."

Wind generators have come a long way and produce electricity that is almost as cheep.

Solar is getting better but still cost too much for the equipment compared to the electric out put.

Bio mass if you do not know what that is it is basically a very large pile of manure which you use the heat it generates to create electricity.
I have not done much research on bio mass because I would not want that in my back yard.
