Sounds good Wonder where he thought of that idea - maybe it was while getting his chauffeur to tow him while he was riding his bike - but we will all have to point our aerosols at the sky and spray for the next zillion years - to get any Sun rays that would run an average homes electricity . Another daft gimmick by Davie boy ..

David Cameron is copying too many of the things that Blair did and that were in retrospect wrong. One of these things is that he is having a complete policy review, so we do not know his views on energy, including nuclear energy. Somehow I suspect that he will say the decision has already been taken and go ahead with Blair's plans on a new generation of nuclear power.
I cannot see the Tories scrapping the nuclear deterrent, whatever you think of it. And you cannot have nuclear weapons without nuclear reactors to make the fuel. In this context, I suspect solar panels will be a "top up" way of generating energy in the UK.
Caemron is the master of geture politics. Solar is not the solution. Noris nuclear. What is required is an urgent commitment to energy efficiency and less waste. Inexorably increasing demand is not solved by an ever increasing supply of electricity generating capacity. The amount that can be saved by known energy saving measures is so great that new capacity may not be necessary.

David Cameron has got it worked out that by the time of the next election he'll have hit on so many ideas that at least one of them will appeal to any of the multitude of minority groupings. Where this falls down is the majority, although it may be made up of minorities is not stupid. He would have more success if he concentrated on Conservative issues, this way he'll even alienate his own natural supporters.
