Is the Solar System rightside up, or, upside down? Why?
Question:
Answer:
It's actually inside out. But black holes are trying to fix that.
Whatever we want it to be --- it is all relative.
Rightside up or down relative to what?? You need some point of reference to decide whether something else is right side up or down relative to it.
In space doesn't existe RIGTH, LEFT, UP and DOWN.
There's not point of reference up there.
Here, we associate up with 'heaven'; down with 'grown' but in space you can't do that.
"Up" is normally for any earthling "out from earth centrum, height 0 = surface (or sea level, but then yoo're getting technical about it :))" So up could be any direction really. Normally though, the solar system is drawn with the earth's North pole as upward, but with the solar plane as the level, making the earth point in it's 23 degree angle as usual. The Sun also rotates, and even tho
Neither.
Typically, if anyone wants to make a choice, then North is up, although it is an arbitary convention.
The concept of upside down or rightside up comes from a gravitational point of view. On earth we have the gravity which determines what is down and what is up.
However, in space there are many week gravitational fields but they are weak. For practical purposes, we can say that there is no gravity. Since there is not gravity there is no up or down.
